Nano/Micro Systems

Nano/micro-fluidic devices, such as those used to preconcentrate or sort biomolecules, can play a key future role in both medical diagnostics and experimental biology — but only if the now near-decade long process of customizing the technology to emerging applications can be dramatically accelerated.  To accelerate device development, designers need predictive simulation tools.  The next generation of computational tools for design of nano/micro systems must resolve physics at multiple length scales while including the
integrated effects of multiple disciplines.
